A slide outlining a technique for measures and metrics by characteristic shape.
Image Warping by Fluid Dynamics by admin — last modified 2007-03-10 02:53
One of the most challenging problems is to find the difference between two images with features that cannot be defined by a boundary. Warping images allows you to find a distance between two images based on the cost of flowing one image into another and provides a good measure that is not based on determining a boundary.
Metrics evaluation by correlation with expert opinion by admin — last modified 2007-01-17 06:23
We currently have a suite of at least 100 simple measures, and on the order of 10 sophisticated ones. The question is which ones inform us about the questions that matter, and ignore features that do not. These documents relate to the work we have done on methods to evaluate metrics. This is an example of the combined metric approach for evaluating and designing metrics, applied to an open problem.
